Grupo Alves Bandeira has partnered with the University of Beira Interior (UBI) to promote the seminar "Sustainability and Innovation in Road Paving”, an initiative aimed at encouraging reflection on innovative practices and solutions applied to the road infrastructure sector, with a particular focus on sustainability and environmental efficiency.

Bringing together experts from various areas of the public and private sectors, the event seeks to bridge the gap between academia, businesses, and local authorities, fostering the exchange of technical knowledge and contributing to the achievement of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

With more than 120 registered participants, including representatives from some of the main construction companies such as Mota-Engil, Gabriel Couto, Tecnovia, Alves Ribeiro, and CJR, the seminar — to be held on November 12 at the UBI Faculty of Engineering — stands out for the quality and relevance of its technical program.

Petroibérica, a company within the Portuguese Alves Bandeira Group, will take part in the panel "Low-emission fuels for asphalt mixture production”. The session will feature Luís Vieira, Business Unit Director at Petroibérica, who will share the company’s perspective on the role of alternative fuels in reducing emissions and promoting a greener and more efficient economy.

The program also includes presentations by experts from Infraestruturas de Portugal, Consulpav, Norvia, Ecofirmes, Lusafal, and Tecnovia, addressing topics such as the use of recycled materials, technological innovation, and the development of new solutions for sustainable pavements.
